Giving assistance during the survey

It is hoped that people will be able to read and understand the questions themselves, however they are allowed to ask another adult about the meaning of a word if it’s unclear. Friends and helpers can explain the meaning of a question to a person particularly applying it to their own context.

People with specific needs

People with disabilities, with literacy or translation needs, can be assisted in completing the survey.

Each question can be read aloud to them and another adult can record their answers for them if needed. However the helper cannot answer the question for them.

Ethically, the answers need to come from the survey participant themselves.
